Mark Thompson
Founder

Mark has always been involved with dogs from a young age, training his first gundog at the age of 10.

He started a training and exercising company for dogs in central London in 1994 and three years later moved to Carmarthenshire with his wife Gillian and together they founded The Dog House. Mark’s passion is for teaching dogs and their owners to get the best out of their relationship with each other.

Gillian Thompson
Founder

Gillian left London and a career in the arts to set up The Dog House with Mark in 1997.

She is responsible for client liason and the administration and logistics of the company as well as squeezing in time for their three children, Amber, Hugo and Maximus.

Paul Carrier
Manager and Dog Trainer

Having relocated from Spain in 2009, where he ran a dog boarding, training and rescue centre, Paul now enjoys the challenge of managing our dog training team as well as training and exercising our guests.

He lives on site with his wife and joint manager, April.

April Carrier
Manager and Nutritionist

With 10 years of experience running a dog boarding and rescue facility in Spain, April is well placed as our joint manager.

As well as heading up our puppy socialisation programmes, she also has a keen interest in nutrition, homeopathy and is fully qualified in canine first aid.

Daniel Smith
Dog Trainer and Transport

With over 15 years of dog training and handling experience, Danny is the longest standing member of our team.

He is also responsible for the safe transportation of our guests between London and Wales.

Louise Turner
Dog Trainer and Behaviourist

Louise has a BSC in Animal Behaviour and is a provisional member of the APBC.

She implements our behavioural modification programmes and training courses as well as our written reports for owners. She is passionate about training dogs and their owners.

Jillian Jennings
Head Groomer

Jillian has recently joined us as our groomer after being a lead volunteer for 6 months at the African Dawn Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Prior to that she has also worked as an animal welfare assistant at Battersea Dog’s and Cat’s Home, London. She is responsible for returning our guests to their owners immaculately clean, with shiny teeth and manicured paws just prior to their departure. She also has a keen interest in behaviour and training and will ensure that all of our guests find their experience of being groomed a calm and rewarding one.

Nathan Gostling
Groundsman

Responsible for the upkeep of the extensive grounds at The Dog House, Nathan is always busy making sure our guests have a variety of walks to enjoy from meadow, woodland, river and marsh.

He also looks after the other animals on the farm, including sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, quail, peacocks, guinea fowl and doves.
